BL Skipper Gift Sets
1965 "Skipper Holiday Party Gift Set" #1039
The Holiday Party Gift Set came with a tan skin Bendable Leg Skipper and contained the same fashions as the 1965/66 #1021 "Skipper Party Time Gift Set". The gift set #1039 was a little larger though, because the inlet of the BL Skipper original box was included. The artwork showed a brunette BL Skipper in “Dress Coat” and in “Dressed In Velvet” and a blonde BL Skipper in her original swimsuit. These two fashions were included in the set, as well as one set of white gloves and shoes. Since this gift set was only produced for one year it is rare.
1967 "Sears own Skipper and Skooter Gift Set"
This gift set was sold in a yellow double case with portraits of SL Skipper and Skooter. Interestingly, it contained a bendable legs Skipper and a straight legs Skooter doll. The case was also available in blue and pink, so it’s quite possible other sets come with cases in these colors. The yellow gift set case was shown in the Sears catalog. Besides the dolls in their original swimsuits, the set contained two complete outfits ("Beachy Peachy" #1938 and "All Prettied Up" #1949). Inside, the case looked very much like the double case from the Straight Leg Skipper gift set “Skipper and Skooter on the Beach”, but one drawer was labeled "Skipper Accessories", the other one "Skooter Accessories". This gift set is extremely rare.
